CMP programIn 1998 UAB "Narvija" signed a CMP contract with SKF EUROTRADE AB and is the authorized SKF representative in Lithuania. Since 2005 UAB "NARVIJA" is the authorized SKF Certified Maintenance Partner (CMP). Applying SKF methods of equipment analysis according to SKF standards and using SKF monitoring equipment, UAB "Narvija" engineers determine the condition of equipment, anticipate possible break downs and make the recommend ways of their elimination. The goal of SKF certified maintenance partner is not only to determine the current condition of equipment and help repair the problems, but also to maintain its best working condition, shorten possible downtime and guarantee the largest value to the customer. This helps the customer to decrease the number of possible break downs and allows to order needed spare parts in time, plan operations, decrease the stock of spare parts, foresee other repair jobs and improve equipment operations to optimum level. SKF method of equipment condition monitoring is the following:
Data processing and reporting: The data of technical equipment condition are transferred to SKF data processing center in Sweden. Having 100 year experience in bearing manufacture, engineering of bearing units, use of bearing in equipment and condition equipment monitoring, analyses the presented data and makes a report. The report consists of several parts: Current state of every piece of equipment: that is general condition, charts showing change in condition, diagrams, recommendations; Evaluation of equipment, which often fails, determination of failure reasons, their elimination. After presenting the report, SKF recommends the following schedules for periodic equipment condition monitoring: 1. Critical equipment o Equipment, failure of which influences manufacturing efficiency, quality and has no accident reserves and the failure of which could have undesired results, should be diagnosed at least once per month or every 400 working hours. 2. Non-critical equipment has to be diagnosed at least once in 2 months. 3. Helping or reserve equipment has to be diagnosed at least once in a quarter. Equipment condition monitoring made occasionally (less than once per quarter), looses the significance of periodic condition monitoring, because the received data does not reflect the real condition of equipment. Equipment condition monitoring – is a practical way to predict failure of equipment or its parts, prevent the accidental equipment failures, expensive repair or interruption of manufacturing process. Early breakdown prediction means there is plenty of time to repair the malfunction and it is possible to plan the change of bearing or other parts beforehand. Also, it means that it is possible to prepare for the repair during the next planned check up. SKF has a vast range of condition monitoring equipment, including easy to carry tools and stationary equipment, which can be connected to continuous manufacturing lines and able to automatically turn off the manufacturing equipment.
